Wow, I just realized today I haven't blogged on a single movie starring Ellen Page. I mean, come on right?
Okay, first off, Ellen Page is amazing. Second, she is also amazing. Third, she is amazing.
Yes, she is amazing. Why? Well. . .her acting, her sense of style in a movie, and also her continual passion for helping our environment. Seriously, I could go on and on when blogging about this woman, but I shall keep it as brief as possible so that I won't lose you.
She has had a couple movies where she is the star, in all of her others she has just supported. Now if you know her, you'd probably expect a blog about Juno, but I'm going a different route.
This movie is called Whip It. A movie about a small town girl from Texas who has been practically force to participate in beauty pageants by her mother. She finds a major passion in (of all things) roller derby.
Also, an important thing to know about her is that she's a shrimp. A personal nickname she has taken actually. "Shrimp" She is 23, and is about 5'2. So when I say "of all things" I mean roller derby is like hockey on wheels minus the puck. It's just a bunch of girls hitting each other down and giving as many bruises as possible.
The movie is somewhat predictable, but in a good way. How is that possible? Well the way it's written means while watching you see she's living two different lives and at some point they'll meet up with each other. If this was not the case, it would be a pretty bad movie. Now I'm not saying the movie is just another predictable story like Avatar. I'm saying it's a completely original story that keeps you entertained throughout.
If you like me at all, please see this movie and let me know what you thought.
