Bow chicka wow wow

Dinner for Shmucks: I watched it.

I had heard mixed reviews of the movie, and reviews done by critics wasn't helping my decision either. They were all like "This movie was exactly what I expected from Steve Carrel" What the heck does that even mean? What do you expect from a guy who one second is the obnoxious Michael Scott, and the next second a depressed suicide survivor? I sure as heaven don't know.

Anyway, this movie was exactly what I expected from Steve Carrel.

No, but seriously, Steve Carrel did a phenomenal job with his peculiar role, as did Paul Rudd. I'm not a huge fan of Mr. Rudd but I saw his SNL and laughed, so I thought I'd give him a chance, and I am very glad I did. The movie is about a typical guy trying to get a promotion, and to do so (this is where it gets tricky) he has to attend a dinner he calls "Messed up" A dinner for Shmucks.

I couldn't stop laughing throughout the first 30 minutes of this movie, an then it went a little more to a dramatic side after that. It was weird to suddenly feel like I was watching a completely different movie, but it worked. The transition was slow enough that it didn't completely kill the movie.

Towards the end it picked up where it left off and I suddenly couldn't stop laughing again. I loved it.

P.S. I have no idea why I title this blog like that.
