Black Swan

I was privileged to get to see Black Swan the other night and was completely changed forever. Despite the fact that it scarred the crap out of me on so many different levels, it was probably the best psychological thriller I have ever seen.

Now I know a lot of you are probably a little discouraged by the fact that it's Natalie Portman, and Padme probably couldn't do a dance to swan lake. But remember Garden State? She can do drama pretty well.

Supported by Mila Kunis, Portman acted the movie out perfectly. I don't think I can stress this enough, DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE IF YOU ARE SCARRED EASILY! There are moments in this movie that make you shake like a compulsive maniac. Without going into too much detail of the plot, I would like to just point out that she sees things and it makes moments almost too crazy for a theatre.

Anyway, I would recommend anyone to see it if they could stomach it. It was a great story that you will never be able to forget.

It's kind of a funny movie

This fall, a movie you probably have never heard of called "It's kind of a funny story". A movie about a depressed teenage boy who gets a hospital to take him in for help.

Now, you might think it is a depressing movie, or the opposite based off the title. I would like to point out before moving on that I loved this movie; I thought it was extremely well-written, and well-filmed. While most people have opposing feelings (proven by the fact that it has not been nominated for anything this year), but I like my opinion better. If you've seen it, comment and give me whatever opinion you may have for me to think about.

Anyway, I thought anybody could relate to at least one of the characters in this film. It has funny moments, but it also had extremely corny moments that made me want to close my eyes and wish it away. Like one scene where the main character is in the middle of a song-session, and it cuts to an 80's looking music video that looked like all of the characters were high.

The good in the movie was worth putting up with the bad, and therefor, SEE THIS MOVIE! Seriously though, it is a really enjoyable independent film that everyone should see.

Disaster Movie: Why even make this movie?

Okay, so I know some of you might follow the ongoing series of movies made by the people who brought you the Scary Movie series, but I don't care. This series is awful! Someone really should just make it illegal for movies to be written like those.

This part of the ongoing disaster is conveniently called Disaster Movie. Seriously? I mean, come on. How could anyone possibly be interested in a movie like this. It's insanity. How could the makers possibly think they could get fans off of something like this???

This is how it would go down: Movie starts, it's vomit, the movie proceeds, it's vomit, and then it ends and you're like, "Wow, that was a disaster!" Of course then as you watch the credits they stop, Ashton Kutcher appears on the screen and goes, "Haha! You've just been punked! Sucka!"

Elfinstation!

Any of you Will Ferrel fans? Yeah? Well forget you! That guy is flat out ridiculous and obnoxious. But that's beside the point. He just happened to stumble across this film called Elf and just so happened to be the main actor. I will give him credit (because I give credit where credit is due) for his job well done. He did well in this particular film.

So Elf, this thing has ups and downs. If you haven't seen it, do, it's a classic, and quite hysterical. Elf is a movie about a human who grows up thinking he's an elf, but when he gets older he realizes that he's human and goes out from the north pole to find his dad/family. During his adventure he stumbles across a lot of random stuff that will either make you laugh, or make you think "FML! I wish this movie was for movie lovers!" He finally finds his dad, but his dad never knew he existed, but his dad doesn't care who he is.

FML! I mean, come on, this guy just found out he has a son and he turns his back. I'm no dad, but I'm pretty sure the wife wouldn't like that very much.

Oh well, it was funny and wasn't a complete waste of time like it could have been.

Inceptination!

First Blog Post!!!

Okay, so I know that about anyone who is reading a blog for movie lovers has probably seen Inception. However, some of you decided to be stupid and just pass on one of the greatest films of the decade, so now I shall inform you on exactly what you've missed without giving away anything important.

Inception is pretty much the best thing that has ever happened for someone who really wants to think and be awed in a movie theatre. Most who said they didn't like it just didn't pay any attention in the movie. There is absolutely no reason to not like this movie unless you don't understand what's going on, and if that's the case, you're not paying attention to the movie. If you just don't want to pay attention and just want to watch things blow up, go see the expendables. I'll get around to that movie later.

Inception is about how a crew of people intend to plant an idea in someone's mind through his dreams by performing an inception. Starring Leo Di-cap, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and my personal fav, Ellen Page (view info on the right for more info). They are all part of the crew, and have to trust each other or else they might just lose their minds getting too twisted in someone else's dream.

All in all, it's really not a hard movie to follow, but for those of you who want to be thinking about a new concept for months, this is a must see.
